Create Air

1st level Alteration – Cleric, Druid, Ranger, Paladin

  • Range: 100 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a small stoppered flask)
  • Duration: permanent
  • Casting Time: 1 action

This spell creates a bubble of fresh air around up to 1 person for each 2 caster levels. This will completely refresh the air envelope of a medium size target, or add 1 man-day of air per 2 caster levels to air of a ship of other object. Any excess air above the maximum amount is lost out of the envelope.

Contact Home Power

2nd level Conjuration – Cleric, Paladin

  • Range: Unlimited
  • Components: V, S, M (a small horn)
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Casting Time: 1 minute

This spell will give the caster a tenuous link through the astral plane to his deity. This will allow the caster to regain spell slots and change his spells as usual through the duration of the spell.

The sounding of the horn, while meant to attract the attention of the caster’s deity, will also attract others within earshot.

Detect Powers

2nd level Divination – Cleric, Paladin

  • Range: 240 yards
  • Components: V, S, M (a handful of sand)
  • Duration: 1 minute
  • Casting Time: 1 action

Casting this spell outside of a crystal sphere allow the caster to determine if there are friendly gods or other powers that may allow him to recharge his spells.

It will also make the caster generally aware of the major gods of the sphere, their alignment and domains.

Locate Portal

2nd level Evocation – Bard, Sorcerer, and Wizard

  • Range: Special
  • Components: V, S, M (a conch shell)
  • Duration: 1 round
  • Casting Time: 1 minute

This spell tells the caster the direction and distance to the nearest portal into or out of the phlogiston. The nearest portal is typically 2d10 days away, or up to the GM.

This spell must be cast within 100 yards of a crystal sphere.

Enhance Rating

3rd level Alteration – Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard

  • Range: 30 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a small ivory arrow)
  • Duration: 1d4 + level rounds
  • Casting Time: 1 action

Casting this spell on a minor or major helm will increase the SR of the ship by 1 point for each 10 levels of the caster, rounded down. Only one instance of this spell will be effective at a time.

Create Portal

5th level Alteration – Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard

  • Range: 100 yards
  • Components: V, S, M (a piece of wire wrapped around a piece of amber)
  • Duration: 2d6 minutes
  • Casting Time: 1 action

This spell creates a portal in a crystal sphere at a location chosen by the caster within 100 yards.

Enhance Maneuverability

5th level Alteration – Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard

  • Range: 30 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a vial of wind from an air based world)
  • Duration: 1d4 plus the casters level rounds
  • Casting Time: 1 action

This spell increases the MC of the target ship by one. Only one such spell can be active at a time on a ship.

Create Minor Helm

6th level Enchantment – Bard, Cleric, Sorcerer, Wizard

  • Range: 30 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a chair, stool, or other suitable seat)
  • Duration: 1 week per caster level
  • Casting Time: 1 minute per caster level

This spell transforms the seat into a minor helm for powering a Spelljammer ship through Wildspace. While it doesn’t typically replace the need for a permanent helm, it is used primarily as a backup.

The minor helm created by this spell can power a ship up to twice the casters level in tonnage.

Create Major Helm

7th level Enchantment – Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard

  • Range: 30 feet
  • Components: V, S, M (a chair, stool, or other suitable seat)
  • Duration: 1 day per caster level
  • Casting Time: 1 minute per caster level

This spell transforms the seat into a major helm for powering a Spelljammer ship through Wildspace. While it doesn’t typically replace the need for a permanent helm, it is used primarily as a backup.

The minor helm created by this spell can power a ship up to three times the casters level in tonnage.
