Tactical Movement

A ship can move up to its SR. It can only move forward, unless it drops it’s speed to a negative value, at which point it moves in reverse. Forward is the hex side the ship is facing.

Ships may also expend 1 SR to turn to face a hex side adjacent to the hex side they are facing. There are restrictions to turning based upon the ships maneuverability class(MC).

  • F – cannot change facing as its first action. Can only turn once per hex.
  • D & E – can only turn once per hex
  • B & C – can turn two hex sides per hex, spends 1 SR per hex face changed
  • A – can turn to any hex side in a hex without spending SR

The MC of a ship also determines it’s ability to change speed.

  • F – can adjust it’s SR by 1 each turn.
  • D & E – can adjust SR by 2 each turn.
  • A, B & C – can adjust SR by 3 each turn.
  • A major helm adds +1 to this for all ship types.
